昔から京都の生地プリント企業はトップの技術力を誇っております。
その中の企業、丹治織物のプリント生地。
西陣織りや着物の生地の繊維企業が多いことでも有名です。

この当時は手捺染。シルクスクリーンという手作業による生地のプリントをしていた時代。

プリントの生地のベースとなっている素材は、50デニールくらいの非常に薄いポリエステルシフォンになります。シフォンはドビーと言う織柄で小さな水玉にジャガード加工されております。更に夏の定番楊柳加工もされています。

そんな、複雑で凹凸感のある生地に手作業でプリントの継ぎ目無く綺麗に花柄のプリントがなされています。

現在のプリントは平面な生地への「インクジェット」によるプリント。愛おしくなるほど当時のプリントの技術が伝わります。

For many years, Kyoto’s fabric printing companies have prided themselves on their unrivalled technical expertise.
Among them is Tanji Orimono, renowned for its printed fabrics.
The area is also famous for its abundance of textile companies specialising in Nishijin-ori and kimono fabrics.

At that time, printing was done by hand. It was an era when fabrics were printed manually using a technique known as silk-screen printing.

The base material for the printed fabric is an extremely thin polyester chiffon, approximately 50 denier. The chiffon features a dobby weave with a small polka-dot pattern created using jacquard weaving. It also features the classic summer finish known as ‘yōryū’.

On this complex, textured fabric, a beautiful floral pattern is applied by hand, resulting in a seamless print.

Today’s printing involves ‘inkjet’ printing on flat fabric. The printing techniques of that era are so evident that they are truly endearing.

This fabric is highly recommended for designs that make the most of its sheer quality.
