インド綿って生地を高密度で織っていなくて、生地をよく見るとタテ糸とヨコ糸に絶妙な隙間ができているんです。

インド綿に近いのが日本のコットンローンやキャンブリック等ですが、正確で寸分狂わぬ日本製なので生地密度が高い＝通気性が良くない？のか。

と考えてインド綿に近い織り方の１４６ＣＭの生地幅のマドラスチェックをご提案します。

Maybe Even Cooler Than Linen: Indian Madras [W787A]

Some customers tell me, “Linen is too hot!” I’d think, “Is that so…?” but when I’d ask to see the fabric they were wearing, it turned out to be Indian cotton!

Indian cotton was a staple fabric back when we were young. It was the go-to material for summer shirts.

Indian cotton isn’t woven with a high density; if you look closely at the fabric, you’ll see a subtle gap between the warp and weft threads.

Fabrics similar to Indian cotton include Japanese cotton lawn and cambric, but since they’re made in Japan with precise, flawless craftsmanship, their higher fabric density might mean they aren’t as breathable?

With that in mind, I’d like to recommend this Madras check fabric, which is 146 cm wide and woven in a style similar to Indian cotton.

It’s incredibly versatile—perfect for dresses, pants, and shirts. And of course, it’s 100% cotton.
