近江晒とは〇〇炊きと比べると洗いざらしのシボ感と反発感が特徴で、着用期間が経っても生地の反発効果があってクタッとしにくく、洋服が型崩れしにくいと思います。
柔らかく優しい感覚の生地では〇〇炊きが良いと思います。近江晒はパリッとまでは行きませんが、直射日光で綿布を干した後のあの「パリッ」とした感触になります。
生地の厚みは40番手タイプライターくらいの厚み。シャツには最適。夏のおしゃれなリラコっぽいパンツでも◎。

While the “〇〇-style” finish is also soft and very popular, this item features fabric treated with the Omi Sarashi process.
Compared to the “〇〇-style” finish, Omi Sarashi is characterized by the textured crinkle and springy feel of unbleached, unwashed fabric. Even after prolonged wear, the fabric retains its springiness, making it resistant to sagging and helping the garment maintain its shape.
If you’re looking for a soft, gentle feel, “〇〇-style” processing is a good choice. Omi Sarashi isn’t quite as crisp as that, but it has that “crisp” feel you get after drying cotton fabric in direct sunlight.
The fabric is about as thick as 40-count typewriter fabric—perfect for shirts. It’s also great for stylish, relaxed-fit summer pants.
